Winters Healthcare Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
January 23, 2026– Federman & Sherwood is investigating a data breach involving Winters Healthcare, following a notification filed with the California Attorney General.
According to the filing, the incident originated from a cybersecurity breach at TriZetto Provider Solutions, a third-party vendor used in connection with Winters Healthcare’s electronic medical record system through OCHIN. Winters Healthcare was notified on December 15, 2025, that an unauthorized individual had gained access to one of TriZetto’s systems.
The information potentially involved includes patient names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, contact information, and certain health-related or insurance information. Winters Healthcare stated that not all patients were affected and that there is currently no evidence of misuse. Notification, call-center support, and identity theft protection services are being coordinated through TriZetto and its vendors.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether appropriate vendor oversight and data protection measures were in place and whether individuals impacted by the incident may have legal claims.
The compromised information may have included:

- Date of birth
- Contact information (phone number, address, email address)
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
