KerberRose Wealth Management, LLC Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
June 1, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood, a national consumer protection law firm, is investigating the KerberRose Wealth Management data breach, a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to sensitive personal information that was reported to the Attorney General of Maine.
According to the notice, KerberRose Wealth Management, LLC became aware on May 1, 2026, that an unauthorized third party gained access to an employee email account on April 29, 2026. The unauthorized access reportedly resulted in limited access to a portion of a backup platform used in the operation of KerberRose’s wealth management business.
Upon discovering the incident, KerberRose immediately isolated the impacted environment and launched an investigation with the assistance of a forensic security firm. The company subsequently determined that personal information may have been accessed and/or acquired by the unauthorized actor.
The information potentially exposed includes names, addresses, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, bank account information, and dates of birth.
Cybersecurity incidents involving wealth management firms are particularly concerning because they may expose highly sensitive financial and personal information capable of being used for identity theft, financial fraud, and unauthorized account activity.
Federman & Sherwood is actively investigating whether KerberRose Wealth Management, LLC implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards and whether this data security incident could have been prevented. KerberRose reported that it engaged forensic security experts, secured the affected environment, and is offering affected individuals twenty-four (24) months of complimentary credit monitoring, credit reports, credit scores, and fraud assistance services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.
