Impac Mortgage Holdings, Inc. Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

April 20, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood is investigating a data breach involving Impac Mortgage Holdings, Inc. following a notification filed with the Attorney General of Maine.

According to the notice, Impac identified indications of unauthorized access to its systems on or about March 20, 2024. An investigation determined that an unknown actor may have gained access to certain files and folders between February 21, 2024, and March 20, 2024.

The information potentially impacted includes individuals’ names in combination with Social Security numbers. Impac completed its review of the affected data and notified impacted individuals, including approximately five Maine residents, on or about March 27, 2026.

In response to the incident, Impac reported that it secured its systems, engaged third-party cybersecurity professionals, and notified federal law enforcement. The company has also implemented additional safeguards and is offering affected individuals twelve (12) months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through TransUnion.
