Berkeley Research Group, LLC (“BRG”) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (November 5, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a data breach involving Berkeley Research Group, LLC (“BRG”), following the organization’s filing of a data breach notification with the California Attorney General.

According to the notification, BRG detected suspicious activity within its network on March 2, 2025. A subsequent forensic investigation determined that an unauthorized party gained access to BRG’s systems between February 28, 2025, and March 2, 2025, and was able to copy certain personal information maintained on the network. BRG has stated that the personal information was in its possession as part of client-related work.

The categories of information involved may include individuals’ personal and potentially sensitive information, depending on the relationship to BRG and the nature of the data provided in connection with client engagements.

BRG reports that, upon identifying the incident, it implemented containment measures, enhanced security monitoring, rebuilt affected systems, and notified federal law enforcement. To assist affected individuals, BRG is offering 24 months of complimentary identity monitoring services through Kroll, including credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration support.

Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether the personal information involved in the incident was adequately protected and whether affected individuals may be entitled to compensation or additional identity protection benefits beyond what has been offered.

The compromised information may have included:

  • Full name
  • Social Security number
  • Other sensitive information
