Zions Bancorporation Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (September 5, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces an investigation into a recently reported data breach involving Zions Bancorporation, N.A., Member FDIC.
According to the notice filed with the California Attorney General’s Office, on June 20, 2025, an employee of Zions Bancorporation mistakenly emailed an internal document to an unauthorized third party. The document, which was not intended for distribution outside the organization, contained sensitive consumer information.
Upon discovering the breach, Zions Bancorporation reports that it took immediate action, including addressing the employee error, enhancing internal controls, and confirming deletion of the document by the recipient. The company states that there is no evidence that the compromised information has been misused.
To help protect those impacted, Zions Bancorporation has partnered with Experian® to provide affected individuals with 12 months of complimentary identity theft protection services, including credit monitoring, identity restoration assistance, and $1,000,000 in identity theft insurance coverage. Affected customers were notified by mail and provided with enrollment instructions.
