Wilmington Community Clinic (“WCC”) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (December 12, 2025) – Federman & Sherwood, a national law firm representing individuals impacted by data breaches and privacy violations, is investigating a significant data security incident involving Wilmington Community Clinic (“WCC”), following the organization’s notification to the California Attorney General.
According to the notice, Wilmington Community Clinic discovered on August 13, 2024, that its systems had been compromised by an unauthorized actor. Upon detecting suspicious activity, WCC immediately disconnected network access, engaged third-party cybersecurity experts, and initiated a comprehensive forensic investigation to determine the scope of the breach.
The investigation later confirmed that an unauthorized party may have acquired personal information and protected health information (“PHI”) contained on WCC systems. Due to the volume and complexity of the compromised data, the analysis required multiple phases of automated and manual review. WCC completed the identification and verification of affected individuals on November 18, 2025, more than a year after the incident was first detected.
To help protect affected individuals, Wilmington Community Clinic is offering 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft restoration services through HaystackID. Impacted individuals have been provided detailed instructions for activating these services and steps they can take to protect themselves, including monitoring accounts, placing fraud alerts, or initiating credit freezes
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Wilmington Community Clinic maintained reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards under state and federal law; whether the breach could have been prevented; and what legal remedies may be available to impacted people.
The compromised information may have included:
- Full name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
- Other sensitive information
