Wedbush Securities Inc. Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (December 15, 2025) – Federman & Sherwood, a national law firm representing individuals impacted by data breaches and privacy violations, is investigating a cybersecurity incident involving Wedbush Securities Inc., following the company’s notification to the California Attorney General.
According to the consumer notice, Wedbush Securities discovered on or around July 11, 2025, that one of its web-facing internal applications was misconfigured, making unauthorized access possible. The company promptly secured the application and launched an investigation to determine the scope of the incident. The investigation determined that unauthorized actors may have accessed a limited set of client data between May 17, 2025, and July 11, 2025.
After conducting a comprehensive review of the potentially impacted data, Wedbush Securities determined on August 28, 2025, that personal information belonging to certain individuals was involved. The information potentially exposed includes names in combination with financial institution names, account numbers, and Social Security numbers.
To assist impacted individuals, Wedbush Securities is offering 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring, credit reporting, credit score services, and fraud assistance through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. The notification also provides guidance on monitoring financial accounts, obtaining free credit reports, placing fraud alerts or credit freezes, and reporting suspected identity theft.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Wedbush Securities implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards, whether the misconfiguration could have been prevented, and what legal remedies may be available to affected California residents and others nationwide.
