Wakefield & Associates, LLC Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (November 11, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a data breach involving Wakefield & Associates, LLC, located at 320 North Cedar Bluff Road, Knoxville, Tennessee. The company filed a data breach notification with the Attorney General of Maine after discovering that personal information belonging to individuals had been compromised in a cyberattack.
According to the notice, the breach occurred on or about January 14, 2025, and was discovered on September 24, 2025. The investigation determined that the incident was the result of an external system breach (hacking) that resulted in the unauthorized access to files containing personal information.
The information that may have been impacted includes individuals’ names or other personal identifiers in combination with additional sensitive data elements. Wakefield & Associates began mailing written notifications to affected individuals on November 7, 2025, including 41 Maine residents.
To assist affected individuals, the company is offering 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through TransUnion. These services include credit report access, credit score monitoring, and fraud assistance resources.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Wakefield & Associates implemented adequate data protection measures and whether affected individuals may be entitled to compensation or additional identity protection benefits.
