February 9, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood is investigating a data breach involving the UA Sprinkler Fitters Local 669 Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, following notifications filed with the Maine Attorney General and the Attorney General of California.
According to the filings, the organization identified suspicious activity affecting its computer systems and launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party forensic specialists. The investigation determined that an unauthorized party accessed the network between May 17 and May 23, 2024, and copied certain files without authorization. The review of the affected files concluded on January 28, 2026.
The information potentially involved includes names, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license or state identification numbers. The organization reported that 45 Maine residents were affected and that written notification was provided on or about February 6, 2026. Notices were also provided to affected individuals in California.
The UA Sprinkler Fitters Local 669 Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee reported that it notified law enforcement, implemented additional security safeguards, and is offering affected individuals one year of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through TransUnion.
