TD Bank Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
May 27, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood, a national consumer protection law firm, is investigating the TD Bank data breach, an incident involving the alleged unauthorized misuse of sensitive customer information that was reported to the Attorney General of Maine.
According to the notice, TD Bank discovered that between December 22, 2025, and March 11, 2026, certain customer personal information was allegedly compromised by one of the bank’s employees. TD Bank stated that it believes the employee misconduct may have contributed to fraudulent activity involving affected customer accounts.
The information potentially exposed includes names, addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, account numbers, and transactional data.

TD Bank reported that it initiated an internal investigation through its corporate security team and is offering affected individuals two years of complimentary Fraud-Defender identity protection services through Merchants Information Solutions. TD Bank also stated that it would assist affected customers with opening new accounts and covering associated costs if necessary.
Consumers who received a notice regarding the TD Bank data breach or who believe their personal information may have been compromised are encouraged to closely monitor financial accounts, review credit reports, and report suspicious activity immediately.
