Stevens & Day LLP Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (August 8, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces an investigation into a recently disclosed data breach involving Stevens & Day LLP, a Maine-based law firm.
According to a notice filed with the Maine Attorney General’s Office, Stevens & Day LLP detected unusual activity on its network on November 29, 2024. A forensic investigation determined that an unauthorized party accessed portions of the firm’s network between November 22 and November 28, 2024. On July 1, 2025, a comprehensive data review concluded, confirming that certain files containing personal information were potentially impacted.
The compromised data may have included individuals’ names in combination with other sensitive personal details. While Stevens & Day LLP reports it has no evidence that the information has been misused, it is offering affected individuals 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Stevens & Day LLP took adequate measures to safeguard the sensitive information in its possession and whether affected individuals may be entitled to additional remedies.
The breach potentially exposed sensitive personal information, such as:
