Stack Sports Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
July 28, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood, a national consumer protection law firm, is investigating the Stack Sports data breach following a cybersecurity incident that may have compromised consumers’ payment information.
According to the consumer notice, Stack Sports detected suspicious activity affecting its Sports Affinity web application platform on June 8, 2026. An investigation determined that an unauthorized actor placed malicious code on the platform that captured payment information entered during the online checkout process. The unauthorized activity reportedly began on or about May 8, 2026, and the malicious code was removed by June 10, 2026, with remaining browser cache elements cleared on June 22, 2026. Stack Sports completed its review of affected transactions and identified impacted individuals by July 17, 2026.
According to the notice, the information potentially involved includes cardholder names, payment card numbers, card expiration dates, card security codes (CVV), and checking account numbers for certain eCheck or ACH transactions. The company states that Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, Stack Sports account credentials, account profile information, and uploaded documents were not involved. Stack Sports is offering 24 months of complimentary identity theft protection services through IDX, including credit monitoring, CyberScan monitoring, identity theft recovery services, and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance reimbursement.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Stack Sports implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards to protect consumers’ financial information and whether additional security measures could have prevented this incident.
