Shrader & Associates LLP Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (June 17, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a data breach involving Shrader & Associates LLP, a law firm based in Texas, which recently notified representatives of deceased individuals that sensitive personal information may have been compromised in a ransomware attack.
According to the notification sent by Shrader & Associates, the firm experienced a ransomware incident on April 8, 2025, which resulted in unauthorized access to its systems. On May 13, 2025, the firm determined that an unknown actor had accessed data from their network, including personal information belonging to deceased individuals represented by the firm.
The compromised data may include the full name, Social Security number, and medical records of the deceased. Although Shrader & Associates stated there is no current evidence that this information has been misused, the law firm is offering 24 months of complimentary cyber monitoring services to affected families through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Shrader & Associates implemented adequate safeguards to protect the highly sensitive data in its possession and whether representatives of the deceased may have legal recourse under state and federal privacy laws.
The compromised information may have included:

- Social Security numbers
- Other sensitive information
