Rain Bird Corporation Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (December 12, 2025) – Federman & Sherwood, a national law firm focused on representing individuals impacted by data breaches, is investigating a cybersecurity incident involving Rain Bird Corporation following the company’s notification to the Attorneys General of both Maine and California.
According to the regulatory filings and written consumer notices, Rain Bird became aware of suspicious activity on or around July 25, 2025, affecting certain portions of its Rain Bird Web Store. The company immediately secured its systems and engaged third-party cybersecurity specialists to investigate. The review determined that fraudulent activity associated with payment cards used on the Rain Bird Web Store occurred between February 11, 2025, and September 5, 2025.
Rain Bird later confirmed that unauthorized actors may have accessed information belonging to individuals who used payment cards on the Web Store during that period.
To help protect affected individuals, Rain Bird is offering 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. Impacted individuals are also being advised on steps to safeguard their financial accounts, including monitoring credit reports, placing fraud alerts or credit freezes, and promptly notifying their financial institutions of any suspicious activity.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Rain Bird Corporation took adequate steps to protect sensitive consumer payment information, whether the breach could have been prevented, and what legal remedies may be available to impacted individuals across Maine, California, and nationwide.
The compromised information may have included:
- Full name
- Financial information (card number, expiration date, cvv)
- Other sensitive information
