Radiology Associates of Richmond (“RAR”) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (July 3, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood has launched an investigation into a recently reported data security incident involving Radiology Associates of Richmond (“RAR”), as disclosed in a notification filed with the Office of the Attorney General of Maine.
According to the breach notification, RAR discovered on May 2, 2025, that unauthorized access had occurred within its network between April 2 and April 6, 2024. The breach was part of a broader cybersecurity incident in which files were accessed and exfiltrated by an unauthorized actor. A subsequent forensic investigation and manual document review confirmed that personal and protected health information was exposed.
The compromised data may include names, Social Security numbers, Community Choice account numbers, and potentially sensitive medical information. At this time, RAR has stated there is no evidence that the information has been misused. However, out of an abundance of caution, RAR is offering affected individuals’ complimentary access to single bureau credit monitoring, credit report, credit score services, and fraud assistance through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company specializing in identity theft remediation.
Federman & Sherwood is evaluating whether RAR had appropriate data protection protocols in place and is assessing the legal rights of affected individuals.
