Precision Tax Relief Data Breach – Federman & Sherwood Investigates
Oklahoma City, OK (June 3, 2025) – Precision Tax Relief, LLC (“PTR”) is informing individuals of a data security incident that may have involved certain personal information. The company has taken immediate steps to address the issue and is providing support for those who may have been affected.
What Happened
On April 1, 2025, PTR detected suspicious activity within its computer network. Upon discovery, PTR promptly launched a thorough investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts. The investigation determined that an unauthorized actor accessed PTR’s network intermittently on April 1 and may have viewed or copied certain files during that time.
PTR immediately implemented measures to secure its systems and initiated a comprehensive review to identify the data involved and the individuals potentially affected. That review has now concluded, and affected individuals are being notified directly.
What Information Was Involved
The affected files may have included personal information related to certain individuals, such as:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license or other government issued ID card numbers (e.g., individual taxpayer ID number, passport number, military ID card number)
- Financial account number or credit or debit card number
- Unique biometric data (e.g., fingerprint, retina or iris image, or other unique biometric representation)
- Genetic information
- Health record or records of a wellness program or similar program of health promotion or disease prevention (e.g., healthcare professional’s medical diagnosis or treatment of the consumer, health insurance policy number)
