Planned Parenthood Northern California Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

January 6, 2026– Federman & Sherwood is investigating a data breach involving Planned Parenthood Northern California, following a notification filed with the Attorney General of California.

According to the notice, the incident stemmed from a cybersecurity event involving OCHIN and its subcontractor, TriZetto Provider Solutions. Unauthorized access to TriZetto’s systems reportedly began in November 2024 and involved systems housing patient insurance eligibility and related information.

The information potentially involved includes patient names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, health insurance member numbers, dependent information, and other demographic and health insurance data. The organization stated that no payment card or banking information was affected and that credit monitoring services are being offered.

Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether reasonable data security measures were implemented, whether the unauthorized access could have been prevented, and whether impacted individuals may have legal claims.
