Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company (PIIC) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (July 25, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood has launched an investigation into a data breach involving Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company (PIIC), following the company’s recent notification to the Attorney General of California regarding unauthorized access to its network.

According to the notice, the breach occurred over a two-day period between June 9 and June 10, 2025, when an unauthorized party accessed PIIC’s systems and acquired files containing personal information, including individuals’ names, dates of birth, and driver’s license numbers. The breach was confirmed after an internal investigation concluded on July 9, 2025.

PIIC has offered affected individuals a complimentary one-year membership to Kroll Identity Monitoring, which includes credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration services. While no misuse of the stolen data has yet been reported, the firm states that it has implemented additional cybersecurity measures to help prevent future incidents.

Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company took adequate steps to safeguard the personal data it collected and whether affected individuals may be entitled to legal remedies under California’s strict data privacy laws.
