PECO Foods Data Breach Class Action Settlement
August 20, 2026 – The Circuit Court of Tuscaloosa County, Alabama has granted preliminary approval of a $950,000 class action settlement resolving claims arising from a December 2023 data breach involving Peco Foods Inc.
The lawsuit, styled Ryan, et al. v. Peco Foods Inc., Case No. 63-CV-2025-900067, alleged that an unauthorized third party accessed personally identifiable information belonging to affected individuals during a data breach that occurred on or around December 4, 2023. Peco Foods denies any wrongdoing or liability.
The settlement class includes U.S. residents whose personal information was accessed and/or acquired in the data breach and who were sent notice of the incident by Peco Foods on or around July 24, 2024.
The deadline to submit a claim is November 9, 2026. The deadline to object to or request exclusion from the settlement is October 12, 2026. The Court has scheduled a Final Approval Hearing for December 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. CT.
