OEConnection LLC Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
June 15, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood, a national consumer protection law firm, is investigating the OEConnection data breach, a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to sensitive personal information that was reported to the Attorney General of Maine.
According to the notice, OEConnection LLC (“OEC”) identified suspicious activity within its computer environment on March 6, 2026. The company promptly secured its systems and launched an investigation, which determined that an unauthorized party gained access to certain servers and viewed files between March 5, 2026, and March 6, 2026.
Following a comprehensive review completed on April 2, 2026, OEC determined that sensitive personal information may have been accessed by the unauthorized actor.
The information potentially exposed includes individuals’ names and Social Security numbers.
Data breaches involving Social Security numbers are particularly concerning because cybercriminals may use the information to commit identity theft, tax fraud, financial fraud, and other forms of misuse.
Federman & Sherwood is actively investigating whether OEConnection LLC implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards to protect sensitive personal information and whether this data security incident could have been prevented. The firm is also evaluating potential legal claims on behalf of individuals affected by the OEConnection data breach.
OEC reported that it notified federal law enforcement, is implementing additional security safeguards and employee training, and is offering affected individuals twelve (12) months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services through Experian.
Consumers who received a notice regarding the OEConnection data breach or who believe their personal information may have been compromised are encouraged to monitor financial accounts, tax records, and credit reports for suspicious activity.
