Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (September 17, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces an investigation into a reported data breach involving Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, PC (NP&M), a law firm based in New Haven, Connecticut.
According to a notice filed with the Maine Attorney General, NP&M detected suspicious activity within its systems on April 8, 2024. A forensic investigation determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed certain files as early as March 1, 2024. On June 10, 2025, NP&M confirmed that personal information—including names, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license numbers—may have been exposed.
On September 15, 2025, NP&M began mailing notification letters to affected individuals, including two Maine residents. The firm is offering complimentary identity protection services and has provided guidance on placing fraud alerts, security freezes, and monitoring credit reports to help safeguard against identity theft.
