NAHGA Claims Services (“NAHGA”) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (November 18, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a data breach involving NAHGA Claims Services (“NAHGA”), following the company’s recent filing of a data breach notification with the Attorney General of Maine.
According to the notice submitted to the Attorney General, NAHGA became aware of unusual activity involving its network systems on April 10, 2025. The company immediately engaged independent cybersecurity specialists to conduct a forensic investigation. The review determined that between April 8, 2025, and April 11, 2025, an unauthorized party may have acquired certain files without permission. NAHGA then conducted a comprehensive review of the affected data, concluding its analysis on October 17, 2025, and subsequently began issuing notifications to impacted individuals.
The information potentially compromised varies by individual and may include names, Social Security numbers, and/or other highly sensitive information. NAHGA notified 176 Maine residents of the incident via USPS First-Class Mail on November 14, 2025.
NAHGA reports that it has implemented enhanced security measures to protect against similar incidents going forward. The company has also established a toll-free call center through IDX to respond to questions and provide assistance. Impacted individuals have been offered 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services, including credit and CyberScan monitoring, identity theft insurance up to $1,000,000, and fully managed identity recovery services.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether NAHGA implemented reasonable and appropriate data protection safeguards, and whether individuals affected by the breach may be entitled to compensation, extended identity monitoring, or other legal remedies.
The compromised information may have included:
- Full name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Passport number
- Treatment diagnosis information
- Health insurance information
