Money Mart Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
January 13, 2026–Federman & Sherwood is investigating a data breach involving Money Mart, following a notification filed with the Attorney General of California.
According to the notification, Money Mart learned in early December 2025 that an unauthorized third party gained access to certain files stored within a third-party application. A forensic investigation was initiated to assess the scope of the incident.
The information potentially involved includes individuals’ names and Social Security numbers. Money Mart reported that affected individuals were notified and offered 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Cyberscout.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Money Mart maintained appropriate data security measures and whether individuals affected by the incident may have legal claims.
The compromised information may have included:
- Full name
- Social Security number
- Other sensitive information
