Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (June 9, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood has launched an investigation into a data security incident reported by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife), which may have compromised the personal information of 343 Texas residents.

According to the data breach notification published by the Texas Attorney General’s Office on June 6, 2025, the breach involved unauthorized access to or exposure of sensitive personal data.

MetLife has confirmed that notice was provided to affected individuals via U.S. Mail, in accordance with applicable laws. However, the scope of the breach, how it occurred, and whether adequate data protection measures were in place remain under investigation.

The compromised information may have included:

  • Social Security numbers
