McKay Wealth Management (“McKay”) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (June 16, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a data breach involving McKay Wealth Management (“McKay”), which has impacted individuals whose personal information was stored in an employee email account accessed by unauthorized actors.
According to public disclosures, McKay became aware of suspicious activity involving an employee email account and promptly launched an investigation. Findings revealed that the email account was accessed without authorization over a nearly three-month period—from June 28, 2024, to September 19, 2024. A subsequent review, completed in April 2025, determined that the compromised data included names and Social Security numbers.
McKay began notifying affected individuals on May 7, 2025, and is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and identity protection services through Experian to those impacted. The firm also reported the incident to regulators, consumer credit reporting agencies, and posted a public notice on its website.
Federman & Sherwood is currently investigating the scope and consequences of the breach, as well as whether McKay took appropriate measures to protect sensitive information. The firm is evaluating potential legal claims on behalf of those affected.
