MACT Health Board Inc. Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
January 26, 2026– Federman & Sherwood is investigating a data breach involving MACT Health Board Inc. (“MACT”), following a notification filed with the Attorney General of California.
According to the notification, MACT experienced an incident that disrupted the operations of its IT systems. An investigation determined that an unauthorized party accessed certain files stored on MACT’s systems between November 12, 2025, and November 20, 2025. MACT began reviewing the affected files on November 25, 2025, and completed its review on January 9, 2026.
The information potentially involved varies by individual and may include names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and medical information, such as information related to care, diagnoses, insurance details, test results, and treatment information. MACT reported that it notified affected individuals and is offering 12 months of complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services through Experian IdentityWorks.
MACT stated that it implemented additional safeguards and technical security measures and notified law enforcement in response to the incident.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether MACT Health Board Inc. implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards, whether the unauthorized access could have been prevented, and whether individuals impacted by the incident may have legal claims.
