Lee Enterprises Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (June 4, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a recent data breach involving Lee Enterprises, a media company headquartered in Davenport, Iowa.
According to a regulatory filing submitted to the Maine Attorney General’s Office, Lee Enterprises experienced unauthorized access to its network environment on or about February 3, 2025. The company later confirmed that personal information may have been accessed or acquired without authorization, including names and Social Security numbers. The breach was not discovered until May 28, 2025, and written notices were issued to affected individuals, including approximately 13 Maine residents, on June 3, 2025.
In response, Lee Enterprises has stated that it has taken steps to investigate the breach, secure its systems, and provide impacted individuals with 12 months of complimentary identity monitoring services through IDX. However, the full scope and long-term implications of the breach remain unclear.
