InvoiceCloud Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (July 17, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces it is investigating a data breach involving InvoiceCloud, a digital payment solutions provider serving utility, government, and insurance customers across the United States. The breach was disclosed in a notice filed with the Attorney General of Maine on July 16, 2025, and has impacted individuals who used InvoiceCloud’s payment systems, including residents of Maine.

According to InvoiceCloud, on June 16, 2025, the company identified unauthorized code on systems that support certain customer websites used to process online payment card transactions. A forensic investigation revealed that the unauthorized actor likely scraped personal information, including:

  • Full name
  • Physical address
  • Email address
  • Payment card number (last digits only)
  • CVV (Card Verification Value)
  • Expiration date

InvoiceCloud emphasized that Social Security numbers, state-issued IDs, and bank account information were not affected in this breach.

Following the discovery of the incident, InvoiceCloud took immediate steps to contain and remediate the attack, including removing the malicious code, engaging a third-party forensic investigation firm, and reinforcing its internal security controls. Additionally, InvoiceCloud is offering 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services through TransUnion to those affected.

Federman & Sherwood, a nationally recognized law firm specializing in data breach and privacy litigation, is investigating the breach to determine whether InvoiceCloud had adequate security measures in place to protect sensitive consumer information and whether affected individuals may be entitled to compensation.
