Federman & Sherwood Investigates Maxar Space Systems for Data Breach

Oklahoma City, OK (November 25, 2024) – Federman & Sherwood investigates Maxar Space Systems for data breach. On November 15, 2024, Maxar Space Systems filed notice of a data breach with the Attorney General of California. Maxar Space Systems experienced a cybersecurity incident involving their network on October 4, 2024, and was not discovered until October 11, 2024. Maxar Space Systems immediately launched an investigation into the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to the Maxar Space Systems network and accessed certain individuals’ personal and sensitive information. On October 30, 2024, Maxar Space Systems sent data breach notifications to all consumers impacted by the data breach.

The type of information potentially exposed includes:
• Full Name
• Address
• Social Security Number
• All Employment Information
• Other sensitive information

Maxar Space Systems operates imaging satellites and manufactures spacecraft and claims to operate one of the largest commercial satellite constellations on orbit. Maxar is headquartered in Colorado.
