Federman & Sherwood Investigates City of Hope for Data Breach

Oklahoma City, OK (April 3, 2024) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood has initiated an investigation into City of Hope with respect to their recent data breach. On or about October 13, 2023, City of Hope became aware of suspicious activity on a subset of its systems and immediately instituted mitigation measures to minimize and contain any disruption to its operations. City of Hope launched an investigation into the nature and scope of the incident and affected data with the assistance of a leading cybersecurity firm and determined that an unauthorized third party accessed a subset of its systems and obtained copies of some files. On March 25, 2024, City of Hope identified individuals whose personal information was impacted by this incident during a detailed, complex, and ongoing review of relevant data. The following information may have been accessed: individuals’ name, email address, phone number date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license or other government identification, financial details, health insurance information, medical records and information about medical history and/or associated conditions, and/or unique identifiers to associate individuals with City of Hope.
