Oklahoma City, OK (December 9, 2024) – Federman & Sherwood investigates CASTO for data breach. Recently, CASTO filed notice of a data breach with the Attorney General of New Hampshire. CASTO experienced a cybersecurity incident involving their network on December 9, 2023. CASTO immediately launched an investigation into the incident to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On August 22, 2024, CASTRO completed this investigation. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to CASTO’s network and accessed certain individuals’ personal and sensitive information. On November 27, 2024, CASTO sent data breach notification letters to all individuals impacted by the data breach.

The type of information potentially exposed includes:
• Social Security Number
• Driver’s License Number
• Name
• Account number, credit or debit card number, in combination with any required security code, access code, or password that would permit access to an individual’s financial account
• Other sensitive information

CASTO is a privately held real estate services firm based in Ohio. Founded in 1926, CASTO offers a full range of commercial real estate services, including asset management, commercial acquisitions and dispositions, commercial development, leasing, maintenance, and property management, and financial services.2 Additionally, CASTO provides a variety of residential real estate services such as residential development and property management, buying and selling homes, and tenet coordination.2 Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, CASTO has four additional locations in Ohio, Florida, and North Carolina, and employs over 200 individuals.
