Oklahoma City, OK (December 13, 2024) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood has initiated an investigation into Byte Federal with respect to their recent data breach. On November 18, 2024, Bitcoin ATM operator Byte Federal Inc. discovered a data breach involving unauthorized access to one of its servers due to a vulnerability in third-party software. The Byte Federal data breach exposed customers’ sensitive personal information, including names, birthdates, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, government-issued IDs, Social Security numbers, transaction activity, and user photographs. The company is working with an independent cybersecurity team to conduct a forensic investigation and is sending notice to affected individuals. According to a report provided to the Maine Attorney General’s website, an estimated 58,000 people may have been impacted by the Byte Federal data breach.
