ERMI, LLC Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
May 26, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood, a national consumer protection law firm, is investigating the ERMI data breach, a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to sensitive personal information that was reported to the Attorney General of Maine.
According to the notice, ERMI, LLC learned on or about July 25, 2025, that an unauthorized individual may have gained access to a limited number of employee email accounts. Following discovery of the incident, ERMI launched an investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity professionals.
The investigation determined that certain files may have been accessed or removed by an unauthorized actor between approximately February 15, 2025, and August 14, 2025. On or about April 17, 2026, ERMI determined that the impacted files may have contained sensitive personal information.
The information potentially exposed includes personal and medical-related information belonging to affected individuals.
Cybersecurity incidents involving email systems can expose sensitive personal and healthcare-related information, potentially placing affected individuals at risk of identity theft, medical fraud, and phishing attacks.
Federman & Sherwood is actively investigating whether ERMI, LLC implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards and whether this data security incident could have been prevented. The firm is also evaluating potential legal claims on behalf of individuals affected by the ERMI data breach.
ERMI reported that it implemented containment measures, engaged external cybersecurity professionals, and is offering complimentary credit monitoring services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.
Consumers who received a notice regarding the ERMI data breach or who believe their personal information may have been compromised are encouraged to monitor their financial accounts, healthcare records, and credit reports for suspicious activity.
