EmCentrix Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (June 27, 2025) – Federman & Sherwood, a national law firm specializing in data breach litigation, is investigating a data security incident involving EmCentrix. The breach, recently disclosed in a consumer notification letter filed with the Attorney General of Maine, may have compromised the personal information of individuals whose data was maintained by the company.
According to the notification, EmCentrix identified unauthorized access to certain files following a network disruption on August 14, 2024. After engaging independent cybersecurity experts and conducting a thorough investigation, the company determined on June 16, 2025, that sensitive personal information was among the potentially accessed or acquired data. While EmCentrix reports no evidence of misuse, the exposed information may include individuals’ names and other personally identifiable or regulated data.
EmCentrix has since implemented enhanced cybersecurity measures and is offering affected individuals complimentary identity protection services through IDX. These services include up to 24 months of credit monitoring, identity theft insurance, and full-service ID theft recovery support.
Federman & Sherwood is actively investigating the breach to determine its scope and whether EmCentrix maintained reasonable data protection practices.
