Ellafi Federal Credit Union (“EFCU”) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (December 31, 2025) – Federman & Sherwood is investigating a data breach involving Ellafi Federal Credit Union (“EFCU”), following a notification filed with the Maine Attorney General.
According to the filing, EFCU experienced a network disruption on or about October 14, 2025, and immediately launched an investigation with the assistance of outside cybersecurity experts. The investigation determined that certain files may have been accessed and/or acquired without authorization. EFCU completed its review in November 2025 and began notifying affected individuals in December 2025.
The information potentially involved includes names in combination with Social Security numbers and credit and/or debit card numbers. EFCU reported that it has no evidence of misuse of the affected information at this time and is offering affected individuals complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Ellafi Federal Credit Union implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards, whether the unauthorized access could have been prevented, and whether individuals impacted by the incident may have legal claims.
