DRT, LLC Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (July 10, 2025) – Federman & Sherwood, a national law firm specializing in data privacy and cybersecurity matters, is investigating a data breach involving DRT, LLC (“DRT”), following a notification submitted to the Maine Attorney General’s Office.

On May 29, 2025, DRT identified unauthorized remote access to several company-owned email accounts. Following an internal investigation completed on June 11, 2025, DRT determined that emails containing personally identifiable information (PII) may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party. While it remains unclear whether any specific data was acquired, the company could not rule out the possibility of unauthorized access to sensitive files.

According to the notice, the compromised data may include individuals’ full names, addresses, and additional sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, financial data, or other personal identifiers, depending on the file content reviewed during the investigation.

In response, DRT took immediate action by disabling affected accounts, resetting passwords, and revoking user access. The company has since implemented enhanced security measures, including real-time monitoring, upgraded authentication protocols, and increased employee cybersecurity training.

To mitigate potential harm, DRT is offering affected individuals complimentary identity protection services through IDX, including 12 to 24 months of credit and CyberScan monitoring, identity theft recovery assistance, and up to $1,000,000 in identity theft insurance coverage.

Federman & Sherwood is actively investigating this incident and is seeking to determine the full extent of the breach and whether affected individuals may be entitled to legal remedies.

The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security numbers
  • Address
  • Other sensitive information
