Cornwell Quality Tools Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (September 9, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a data breach involving Cornwell Quality Tools, headquartered in Wadsworth, Ohio. According to a notice filed with the Maine Attorney General, the incident exposed sensitive personal information of approximately 103,782 individuals nationwide, including 973 Maine residents.
Cornwell Quality Tools reported that on December 20, 2024, it discovered unusual activity within its computer systems. An investigation determined that an unknown actor had gained unauthorized access to the company’s network as early as December 12, 2024, potentially acquiring certain files containing personal information.
On September 4, 2025, Cornwell began mailing notification letters to affected individuals. The company is offering impacted persons 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through IDX, which include fraud assistance, single-bureau credit monitoring, and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance.
