Connex Credit Union (“Connex”) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (August 8, 2025) –The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating Connex Credit Union (“Connex”) regarding a recent data security incident that may have compromised the personal information of hundreds of individuals, including 467 Maine residents.

According to a notice filed with the Maine Attorney General, Connex detected unusual activity in its network on June 3, 2025. An internal investigation, supported by independent cybersecurity experts, determined that between June 2 and June 3, 2025, certain files may have been accessed or downloaded without authorization. On July 27, 2025, Connex confirmed that the affected data may have included names, account numbers, debit card information, Social Security numbers, and/or other government-issued identification used to open accounts.

Connex has stated that it has no reason to believe that member accounts or funds were directly accessed. Nevertheless, out of caution, the credit union has offered impacted individuals 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.

Federman & Sherwood is focused on investigating whether Connex adequately safeguarded its members’ sensitive information and whether affected individuals are entitled to additional remedies.

The breach potentially exposed sensitive personal information, such as:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Financial information
  • Other sensitive information
