Chapman & Associates PC Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
January 16, 2026– Federman & Sherwood is investigating a data breach involving Chapman & Associates PC, following a notification filed with the Attorney General of California.
According to the notice, Chapman & Associates PC experienced a network security incident on or about January 31, 2025. A forensic investigation determined that an unauthorized third party may have accessed certain personal information. The firm later concluded that information relating to certain individuals was impacted as of December 31, 2025.
The information potentially involved includes individuals’ first and last names and other personal data maintained by the firm in connection with its legal services. Chapman & Associates PC reported that there has been no evidence of misuse and that affected individuals were offered 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and fraud assistance services through Cyberscout.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Chapman & Associates PC maintained adequate data security safeguards and whether individuals impacted by the incident may have legal claims.
The compromised information may have included:
- Full name
- Social Security number
- Other sensitive information
