Cambridge University Press & Assessment Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (April 25, 2025) – Cambridge University Press & Assessment recently notified the Maine Attorney General of a data breach involving potentially compromised personally identifiable information under its care. The incident traces back to June 5, 2025, when the organization detected suspicious activity within a network segment belonging to one of its Australian subsidiaries. In response, Cambridge University Press & Assessment promptly launched an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the breach.

The investigation confirmed that an unauthorized third party may have accessed sensitive personal information stored within its systems. As a result, the organization initiated a detailed review to identify the specific data impacted and determine which individuals were affected. This review was completed in April 2025.

On April 23, 2025, Cambridge University Press & Assessment began sending data breach notification letters to affected individuals. According to the notice filed with the Maine Attorney General, these letters included details about the types of sensitive information involved and offered complimentary credit monitoring services to help protect those impacted.
