Calton & Associates, Inc. Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (June 27, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood has initiated an investigation into a significant data security breach involving Calton & Associates, Inc., a financial services firm based in Tampa, Florida. The incident was formally reported to the Attorney General of California on June 26, 2025, and involves unauthorized access to sensitive personal information.
According to the breach notification sent to affected individuals, the incident began with a network disruption on March 28, 2025, during which unauthorized individuals accessed and exfiltrated certain files from Calton & Associates’ systems. After a detailed investigation, the company confirmed on April 25, 2025, that the affected data contained personally identifiable information, including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and account numbers.
While there is currently no evidence of misuse, Calton & Associates is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company specializing in fraud remediation services.
In response to the incident, Calton & Associates reports that it has implemented enhanced cybersecurity protocols, notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is fully cooperating with law enforcement efforts.
