Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (September 22, 2025) –The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a data breach involving California International Bank, N.A.
According to a notice filed with the Attorney General of California, the bank learned on September 12, 2024, that an unauthorized individual had gained access to one employee’s email account. The investigation, conducted with the assistance of external cybersecurity professionals, confirmed that emails in the account may have been accessed or removed by the intruder between September 11, 2024, and September 12, 2024.
On August 29, 2025, the review determined that the compromised email account may have contained personal information belonging to bank customers. While the bank has stated that it has no evidence the affected data has been misused, it has begun mailing notification letters to individuals whose information was potentially involved.
As a precaution, California International Bank, N.A. is offering complimentary enrollment in Experian IdentityWorksSM, which includes credit monitoring, identity restoration support, and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance coverage. Affected individuals are encouraged to enroll in the service and remain vigilant by monitoring their financial accounts and credit reports.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating this incident to determine whether impacted individuals may be entitled to remedies under state or federal law.
