Autobell Car Wash Data Incident Class Action Settlement

September 9, 2026 – A proposed class action settlement has been reached in the Superior Court of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, resolving claims arising from an April 2024 data security incident involving Autobell Car Wash, LLC.

The lawsuit, styled Pauken v. Autobell Car Wash, LLC, File No. 26CV006404-590, concerns a targeted cyberattack on Autobell’s computer systems that occurred between April 1 and April 7, 2024. Certain files containing private information were accessed during the incident and may have included names and Social Security numbers.

The settlement class consists of individuals residing in the United States who were notified that their personal information was involved in the data incident.

Under the proposed settlement, eligible class members may claim two years of credit monitoring services, including three-bureau credit monitoring, dark web scanning, medical identity monitoring, identity theft insurance, and fraud resolution services. Class members may also submit claims for up to $5,000 in documented unreimbursed losses, including reimbursement for up to four hours of time spent addressing the incident at $25 per hour. Alternatively, class members may elect to receive a $45 cash payment.

The deadline to object to or request exclusion from the settlement is October 13, 2026, and the deadline to submit a claim is November 12, 2026. The Court has scheduled a Final Approval Hearing for November 9, 2026.
