Arrowhead Regional Computing Consortium Data Breach Class Action Settlement

August 28, 2026 – A proposed class action settlement has been reached in Minnesota’s Sixth Judicial District Court for St. Louis County resolving claims arising from a February 2023 data breach involving Arrowhead Regional Computing Consortium (“ARCC”).

The lawsuit, styled In re Arrowhead Regional Computing Consortium Data Breach Litigation, Civil No. 69DU-CV-24-184, alleges that on February 6, 2023, an unauthorized third party gained access to ARCC’s computer systems and exfiltrated data containing personal information, including names, Social Security numbers, and student educational records. ARCC denies liability or wrongdoing, and the settlement represents a compromise between the parties.

The settlement class consists of approximately 65,379 individuals throughout the United States who received notice of the data incident from ARCC.

Under the proposed settlement, eligible class members who submit valid and timely claims may receive two years of three-bureau credit monitoring as well as reimbursement for time spent addressing the data incident at a rate of $20 per hour for up to four hours, for a maximum reimbursement of $80 per class member. ARCC has also agreed to provide information concerning remedial data-security measures and business practices implemented following the incident.

The deadline to object to or request exclusion from the settlement is September 8, 2026, and the deadline to submit a claim is October 8, 2026. The Court has scheduled a Final Approval Hearing for October 12, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. CDT.

The Court appointed William B. Federman of Federman & Sherwood, Nathan D. Prosser of Hellmuth & Johnson PLLC, and Bryan L. Bleichner of Chestnut Cambronne PA as Class Counsel.
