AppFolio, Inc. Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (October 7, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces an investigation into a recent data breach involving AppFolio, Inc. (“AppFolio”).
According to information filed with the Maine Attorney General, AppFolio became aware on August 22, 2025, of a security incident affecting Salesloft, a vendor that provides sales enablement software. The incident reportedly impacted hundreds of organizations and allowed unauthorized access to AppFolio’s customer relationship management (CRM) system between August 8 and August 18, 2025.
Following the discovery, AppFolio promptly disabled all Salesloft integrations and launched a comprehensive investigation. The company determined that the unauthorized actor’s access may have involved personal information from its CRM database. On September 18, 2025, AppFolio confirmed that the records potentially accessed contained the names and Social Security numbers of at least 148 Maine residents.
AppFolio began mailing written notices to affected individuals on October 6, 2025, and is offering one year of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services. The company has also implemented additional security measures and is working closely with Salesloft to ensure future data protection.
