Alcott HR Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

June 19, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood, a national consumer protection law firm, is investigating the Alcott data breach, a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to sensitive personal information that was reported to the California Attorney General.

According to the notice, Alcott discovered unusual activity within its systems in February 2025 and immediately initiated its incident response procedures, notified law enforcement, and engaged independent forensic experts to investigate the matter. The investigation determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to certain Alcott systems where personal information was stored. In March 2026, Alcott completed its review and determined that certain individuals’ information may have been accessed during the incident.

The information potentially exposed includes individuals’ names, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth.

Data breaches involving Social Security numbers and dates of birth are particularly concerning because cybercriminals may use this information to commit identity theft, tax fraud, financial fraud, and other forms of misuse.

Federman & Sherwood is actively investigating whether Alcott implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards to protect sensitive personal information and whether this data security incident could have been prevented. The firm is also evaluating potential legal claims on behalf of individuals affected by the Alcott data breach.

Alcott reported that its iSolved human capital management platform, which stores employee tax, benefits, and banking information, was not affected by the incident. The company also reported enhancing security measures and is offering affected individuals twenty-four (24) months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.

Consumers who received a notice regarding the Alcott data breach or who believe their personal information may have been compromised are encouraged to monitor financial accounts, tax records, and credit reports for suspicious activity.

The potentially compromised information may include:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Dates of birth
  • Other sensitive information
