Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (“ACPHS”) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (June 17, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a data security breach involving Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (“ACPHS”), which may have compromised the personal information of students, staff, or affiliates.
According to a notice issued by ACPHS, the institution detected suspicious activity within its network on or around September 14, 2024, later determined to have been caused by a sophisticated cyberattack. A subsequent investigation, assisted by third-party forensic experts, revealed that an unauthorized actor potentially accessed and acquired a limited amount of data from ACPHS systems between August 31, 2024, and September 14, 2024.
The compromised information may include individuals’ names along with additional personal data elements, although the specific data exposed may vary by individual. ACPHS confirmed the scope of the breach on May 30, 2025, and is now offering affected individuals a complimentary membership to Experian IdentityWorks Credit 3B, which includes credit monitoring, identity theft insurance, and restoration services.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether ACPHS took reasonable and legally required measures to protect the sensitive data it maintained, and what remedies may be available to those affected.
The compromised information may have included:
- Name
- Social Security numbers
- Other sensitive information
