According to the regulatory filings and consumer notification letters, 700Credit discovered suspicious activity within its web application on or around October 25, 2025. According to the Maine filing, approximately 19,225 Maine residents are affected. California residents received substantially similar notifications. Written notices to consumers began in December 2025.

In response to the incident, 700Credit states that it promptly investigated and secured its systems, notified federal law enforcement and the Federal Trade Commission, and is continuing to enhance existing security measures through additional safeguards and employee training.

To assist affected individuals, 700Credit is offering 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through TransUnion, including credit monitoring alerts and identity restoration assistance. Impacted individuals are also being provided guidance on placing fraud alerts or credit freezes, monitoring financial accounts, and obtaining free credit reports.

Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether 700Credit, LLC implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards, whether the unauthorized access could have been prevented, and what legal rights or remedies may be available to affected individuals in Maine, California, and other jurisdictions.
