Goodwill Industries of Southwest Oklahoma & North Texas, Inc. Data Breach Class Action Settlement
May 19, 2026 – The District Court for Comanche County, Oklahoma has granted final approval of a class action settlement resolving claims arising from the February 2024 data incident involving Goodwill Industries of Southwest Oklahoma & North Texas, Inc.
The lawsuit, styled Matthew Egner, et al. v. Goodwill Industries of Southwest Oklahoma & North Texas, Inc., alleged that personal information belonging to affected individuals was compromised in the incident. The Court certified a settlement class consisting of individuals in the United States whose personally identifiable information was impacted by the data incident.
In its Final Approval Order entered May 19, 2026, the Court found that the settlement is “fair, reasonable, and adequate,” noting that there were no objections to the settlement and no requests for exclusion from settlement class members.
The Court also approved payments to participating settlement class members pursuant to the terms of the settlement agreement, as well as attorneys’ fees and expenses.
The plaintiffs were represented by William B. Federman of Federman & Sherwood, Brittany Resch of Strauss Borrelli PLLC, and Leigh Montgomery of EKSM, LLP.
