Alaska Air Group Credit Union Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
April 20, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood is investigating a data breach involving Alaska Air Group Credit Union following a notification filed with the Attorney General of Maine.
According to the notice, Alaska Air Group Credit Union experienced a cybersecurity incident involving its third-party information technology service provider on or about March 5, 2026. The incident allowed unauthorized actors to access the credit union’s systems.
An investigation determined that certain personal information may have been accessed or copied by the unauthorized party. The potentially affected data includes sensitive information such as account numbers, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, tax identification numbers, and routing numbers.
The credit union reported that approximately eight Maine residents were impacted by the incident and began providing written notice to affected individuals on or about April 16, 2026.
In response, Alaska Air Group Credit Union took immediate steps to secure its systems, engaged cybersecurity professionals, and implemented enhanced monitoring and additional safeguards. The organization is also offering affected individuals twenty-four (24) months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through Experian.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Alaska Air Group Credit Union implemented adequate data security measures and whether affected individuals may have legal claims.
